The Pursuit Of Quality Education By Activists & Journalists: Dogged Policy Wonks Who Show Incompetence At Execution

Is there a better analogy to show the large gap between the modern day "educational activism" on behalf the Black community and the results on the street than to document the fate of the "Bayard Ruskin Educational Complex" in New York City?   A facility that will be shut down next year and rechristened as some other, more effective entity?

While those who pursued a certain course of action, failed and realize that a change of course was needed should be criticized for their failure and conditionally praised for their willingness to see that CHANGE is necessary - there exists a recalcitrant faction that is embedded within the Black Community Racial Consciousness Nucleus that remains unrepentant as to the original damage that they have done to our cause.  They understand that there exists no entity within the Black community that will remove them from power with just cause that is so evident to those who care to see.

The Gap Between The Promises Sold To The Black Investor Versus The Deliveries As The Desired Outcomes Are Necessarily Delivered "Upon The Backs Of The Black Community "

What we have here, folks, is a divergence at the heart of the ideological debate that rages within the Black community.  The debate that one side is winning - while the Black community is losing.

The notion that the Black community must be the key agent for uplift of our own people - in competition with others who have competing interests- bring forth such tired platitudes such as:

  • "Blaming the victim for his condition after suffering an attack"
  • "Allowing the oppressor to enjoy his stolen goods while his victims continue in squalor"
  • "The national shame that history's victims are made to suffer from BENIGN NEGLECT while the nation wonders how it can become globally competitive once again"
All of these commonly heard talking points look past one important fact - The Black rank & file - when given a free choice of there to invest its "Community Development Consciousness" resources allowed the "embedded confidence men" to greatly influence their investment decisions.  After which there was no independent voice that acted as "INVESTMENT ADVISERS", harshly scrutinizing the "Portfolio Statements" - for evidence of "return on investments".

With the ominous  label "No Child Left Behind" officially retired by the Obama Administration - the reauthorization of the "Elementary and Secondary Education Act" (The official name of the previous reauthorization that President Bush and Progressive-Lion Senator Ted Kennedy crafted ) having been retired - leave it up to our friends at The Root-Grio to feed a new series of threats to our conscious awareness that the Black community should be concerned about regarding Republican attempts to steal education away from Black people.

The primary reason why the Black community never gets around to holding accountable the people who have previously received the investments of our "equal Black ballots" and our "community development consciousness" is because - just as the "Vote Of No Confidence" is about to take place  - operatives such as "The Root-Grio" come along and work to redirect our attention span to the news "conservative assault" upon Black people.  With the Black rank & file assuming the "racially defensive position" - just as The Root-Grio knew we would take in advance - yet another group of scoundrels are allowed to hold onto their seats of power over Black community institutions despite their failings.

The Divergent Assessment Of The "Bayard Ruskin High School" In NYC Shows the need for standardized testing as a means of moving beyond subjectivity and popularity in one's appraisal.

The
The Bayard Ruskin High School Complex - As Depicted By "Great Schools.org"

Despite the great promise at the school's founding - years later it registers of "2 out of 10" in the Great Schools.org evaluation scale.   (Therefore we must throw out the scale)

Standardized Testing Results

When Bayard Ruskin talked about "Integrated Schools" as the solution to Black education - he was clearly not talking about integration with Hispanic students because that did not do the trick. Why did he and others assume that by having Black kids to sit next to White kids - the Black kids received some magical uplift in their academic standing?

Despite the fact that the NYC school system spends more per student than the state average the force that I call "Establishment Authority Repudiation" allows the activists to reject the notion that they have sufficient school funding in which THEY should expect better results from the institutions that they so strongly influence.  Instead they place themselves into a seat by which they will continue to demand more money before they will allow themselves to be satisfied that sufficient amounts of money are in hand that they should now be questioning other attributes of the education distribution system.

The wildly divergent assessments of the school justify the need for standardized measures as a means of making a more transparent appraisal

Despite the fact that time and measurements have proven Bayard Ruskin's claims to be false - there exists a large troop of progressive educational activists that will do all that is in their power to keep the Black community focused on the accouterments that are not core to the struggle for Black academic excellence.

Question For Clarence Paige: Does A Dis-unified Republican Party Or A Unified Democratic Party Mean A "Prosperous Black Community"?

Clarence Paige: Black voters' Obama blues

Most certainly the best thing going for the Progressive is that he always has some poor people in existence to run on behalf of.

Per their "selling the future" meme - these, the "Least Of These" are always inclined to look past the last election cycle in which they were compelled to invest their ballots into the same scheme which is now before them, asking for another disbursement.  As such Clarence Paige warns that the consequences of a disenchanged Black progressive voter base is a Republican victory.
It is only in comparison to today's Republican Party, divided between its old-school establishment and its tea party zealots, that today's Democrats look unified.

In fact, as President Barack Obama prepares to face whomever the Grand Old Party nominates from its generous array of 2012 candidates, he needs to watch his back. A familiar faction is dragging down his approval ratings: disgruntled liberals.

For example, the Senate's only self-identified socialist, independent Bernie Sanders of Vermont, went so far in recent days as to suggest, "It would be a good idea if President Obama faced some primary opposition" to nudge him back into focusing on his base before the general election.

That's bold. Yet, significantly, Sanders was not offering himself to be that opposition. That's probably wise. Any serious candidate who runs against Obama in Democratic primaries runs the risk not only of losing but also dividing the party and increasing the chance of a Republican victory.

Notice how Paige and other progressives always do a slight of hand.   The Black community should be more focused on preventing a Republican from taking office and thus triggering their angst than we are to focus upon the "favorable people" that we helped into office and yet we still grieve over our conditions.

The telltale signs of the fused Black Community consciousness into the American Political domain is that we are promoted as a loyal base of Democratic voters - opposing the Republicans more than any of those who chose to write about our community cause bothers to talk about the fundamentals that we seek.

The Black community is always sold upon the METHODOLOGY and VEHICLE for our uplift (Progressivism and voting for the Democratic Party).
Where is there evidence of discipline within the Black press by which our Permanent Interests are protected by those who look past the methodology and vehicles (the "Tools" if you will) and instead consider the absolute progress (or retrogression) that we have made by following the prevailing course of action?

Add Clarence Paige to the long list of progressive journalists who chose to place the question of jobs creation at the feet of the President Of The United States.   In truth - the Black community is at the end of a macro-cycle by which the promised benefits that we were to receive as a result of our investments in the present power structure was to have brought forth jobs, education and justice.

Plaxico Burress To Sign With The New York Jets

From jail to Jets, Burress finds a new NFL home

If there was ever a case in which I was compelled to stand against the "Prison Pipeline" it would be the case of the Black man who was exercising his Second Amendment RIGHTS, accidentally shot himself in the leg and was arrested for violating an UNCONSTITUTIONAL law that the powers agree to look the other way rather than dislodge it from the books.

NFL player Plaxico Burress was summarily taken away from his family, stripped of his earning potential and thrown into the Prison Industrial Complex - for others to profit off of him - because New York has a set of laws that are unjust and unconstitutional.  The refrain used to speak against the "War On Drugs"  - "He didn't hurt anybody" is surely the case here.

Article: (2009) Plexico Burress and Wife Expecting A Second Child
The main reason why the usual suspects did not come to the strong defense of Burress is because they are also the hidden hand behind the unconstitutional gun law enforcement provisions.

The police tactic of "Stop And Frisk", adopted by several "Mission Accomplished Cities" on the east coast is more strongly implanted in the context of programs to remove "illegal firearms" from the street than with search for illegal drugs.  Yet the authorities that have implemented these policies suffer few consequences with the voters that placed them into office.  (note: certain big city police chiefs that implemented "Stop And Frisk" in their original beat - got recruited to a new job - at the request of the newly elected mayor - to implement "Stop and Frisk" in his new job).
2 Year Sentence For Plaxico Burress

Plaxico Burress most certainly has faults that have kept him as a spectacle in the news camera's lens long before his gun arrest.  If the common goal is justice and the allocation of punishment commensurate to one's act against the society then Burress' prison sentence which looked past his Second Amendment rights should be labeled as a violation of his civil rights.

Black Progressive-Fundamentalists Are Fighting Against Republicans Rather Than Erecting An Organically Strong Black Community

The Grio:  Rev Jesse Jackson - "Obama Should Have Been Tougher With The GOP"

Think very quickly for a moment.
Can you think of a scenario by which Professional Progressive Political Preacher Rev Jesse Jackson would be heard saying something to the effect of:

  • "{fill in the blank Democratic politician} should have been tougher with the Democrats?"
  • "{fill in the blank Black Community representative} should have been tougher with the {fill in the blank elected official who is a Democrat}?"
We see that the answer is "hell no!!"  based on what PPPP Rev Al Sharpton has publicly said he plans to do with his own criticism of Obama so that their common conservative enemies are not given ammo - "Stay quiet with his criticisms of Obama".   In a perverted and ironic twist the "Black Community's interests" must be given a forbearance when "favorable people" win office because by throwing fire bombs at them to show frustration ultimately weakens them and allows the conservative enemy to slip back into office. In short the Black community is forced to "grin and bear it", carrying the water for the progressives and their party because remaining consistent will undercut the ideology that has been adopted as the gateway to Black prosperity - if we continue to struggle.   (Do you see how faulty your reasoning is Dr Ron Daniels?)

I have stated several times:  There is no longer an ORGANIC Black Community Development Motion.  There is ONLY activities that have been consumed by the "American Political Domain".

Obama being "tougher" with the GOP does not intrinsically mean that the Black community's interests have been advanced (or that they were in mind in the first place).

You will not hear a Jesse Jackson recording from decades ago commenting that anyone should have been harder on the officials in the Mission Accomplished zones as a means of heading off the erosion that ultimately came their way.  Jackson was content with the promotion of progressives into power.  This was the primary attribute which satisfied his vetting process.

The Debt-Ceiling Skirmish Is A Small Foreshadowing Of This Nation's Ultimate Fate

I could throw up the actuarial charts that show the future of the key "social justice" redistribution programs.  I will not at this time.  Instead I would like to talk about the irony that has presented itself.

Those who are most critical of "Wall Street Oligarchs" are loathed to see how they are critical in marketing and selling the US Treasury bonds - the very instruments that will be created after the debt deal is consummated - allowing grandma to receive her Social Security check.   You can't possibly be against a person and a system upon which you depend so earnestly upon.  The fact that there is not one shred of evidence of your plans to disconnect from your benefactor shows that much of what is cast out is merely talk.

The truth is that the fight is not against the GOP.   Both parties are the problem.  Both form an important arm in the hijacking of the American system of governance.

The fight is actually a question of "Will the nation survive the asphyxiation that these forces have placed upon its neck?"

Today's avoidance of a downgrade from "AAA" does not fundamental change the question of the veracity of this rating.  More debt - not less - has been amassed.   Investors believe that they can ultimately earn more income off of the interest payments from the debt instruments that they hold than there is a chance that the USA will ever be able to repay its debt burden.

At some point in the future the interest payments on this debt will begin to displace the top line spending priorities for the nation.

At this point in time the question that PPPP Rev Jesse Jackson SHOULD HAVE asked will be most obvious:

"With this debt spending as a means of affording us all a higher standard of living than what we can afford at present - is there any evidence that these investments have produced ORGANIC COMPETENCIES, the basic skills that we are all going to have to live upon once the inflated balloon has burst?"

Excuse Me Eugene Robinson - The Black Community Is Right Now Living Though The Last Set Of "Progressive Big Ideas" And We Have Not Recovered Yet

I credit the Progressive-Fundamentalists for one thing:  their ability to "Sell The Future" just when the Black community should be having a "No Confidence Vote" upon them proves that they do indeed know the heart beat of our community very well.

They know how to capture the frustrations and the grievances that abound within.  They merely channel it outward like a laser-like force upon the adversary that is to their benefit.

I said "their benefit" meaning progressive politicos.   It is left to be seen that "their enemies" encompass all of the 'Black community's enemies'.    The fact that they include so few of their own ideological set in the "enemies list" proves rather telling.

The real problem is that the institutions of the Black community are not isolated from the elements that are running the ideological and political operations that purport to seek our community uplift.  They run an IDEOLOGY with the purposes of this uplift and thus judge people based on how "Progressive" they are with their INTENTIONS rather than how EFFECTIVE they have been in lifting the Black community with absolute measurements substantiating their continued presence in power.

Is The Momentum On The Black Community's Side, Mr Robinson?

Washington Post columnist and MSNBC "The Un-FOX-Biased Network" regular Eugene Robinson does not appear to be a "race man" in the likes of many of his machine mates.  He is indeed an ideologue and he uses his journalistic skills to say what many of the "understudies" that surround him at the Grio-Root claim is based upon the racial hatred of the "Black President" and then they ask those who reject this claim "When did you stop beating your wife?".

Despite his sharpened skills - Mr Robinson's articles end up in the very same place.  Beyond defending Obama they fail to connect the present circumstances of the Black community with the FAILURE of the INVESTMENTS that the Black community has made for our uplift.

It appears that the Black Progressive-Fundamentalist journalist's meme is to identify an enemy to the people.  Upon achieving the "Mission Accomplished" state as they have struggled to erect - make the case that the community now suffers from {fill in the blank} abandonment" and benign neglect.  Both of these forces serve to keep our people struggling against an external threat that is either clobbering us when they are nearby or having violated our sanctity when they snatched away our blanket in the middle of the night and then rushed away from our presence.

The main flaw of the Black Progressive-Fundamentalist journalist is that they are unable to adequately define the dimensions of the Black community to understand what we need and then make a TRANSPARENT appraisal as to the suitability of the machine that has taken over (per their own assistance provided in their weekly column) and retain their defense of "the least of these" from the injuries that have transpired at the hands of the new authorities.  The very authorities that they (the journalist) celebrated as "Progressive's new ideas" during the inauguration party.

Detroit's Kwame Kilpatrick Is Symbolic Of A "Bold New Progressive Idea"

In the same press cycle that the Root-Grio ran Eugene Robinson's proclamation which hinted that Van Jones represents bold new progressivism they also ran a tale by Mr Robinson's fellow progressive journalist Rochelle Riley entitled "Finally Detroit Is Winning!".

The "win" is not the creation of new jobs to make the once great city viable again.  Instead Ms Riley promotes the news of a large scale initiative for volunteering.  I am not slighting the fact that this is "good news"  I am merely placing this properly into the scale of problems that Detroit has and questioning if this is enough.

Please understand the way things work with regard to political and ideological discourse within the Black community when it comes to such subjects.   Just as a poster on the Grio-Root challenged me the other day with the notion that Ronald Reagan's policies proved to be the death knell for Detroit and other cities we must understand that there is no statue of limitations for referencing the enemies of progressivism as the source of  a present fault.  However, if you dare make make the case that a favorable person (ie: the Black Progressive political machine) is responsible for the city's downfall - you might be called a Black self-hater for daring to make such an assumption.  (Note - attacks on "Free Range Negro" Black Republicans does not fall under this banner.  When a "Black self-hater" is attacked and blamed outside of his proportional power this serves as a galvanizing and reassuring event for Progressive-Fundamentalists.

It is also the case that Ms Reilly is not going to harp on Detroit's past and how they got there and who was driving.  Progressivism is all about selling the disaffected about the future they will have IF they choose to convert their frustrations into votes for the "Party In Motion".    With grand theatrics and the supporting cast of Black Journalists - what is sometimes actually lateral motion or regression is marketed as "forward motion".

Absent a more transparent framework by which the interests of the Black community are appraised separately and distinctly from the political activism arm of the "Black Racial Services Machine" - the longitudinal data (as with the recent US Census findings on Black wealth) will continue to stream out and show stagnation while the grand marketing machine will attempt to show forward progress.
