(Note: - I see ya looking at this blog in record numbers over the last few days.
Put your assumptions of my "negatively" to the side and instead consider WHICH OF US - between me and the people who I write about the most can claim to be more consistent in defending the "Permanent Interests" of the Black Community?

What others have perverted as "defending our interests" is really just a protection racket. Wait until I publish my analysis of the recent words from the head of the CBC and you will better understand all of the consequences of the "enforced ideological unity" that we are compelled to agree to. THEY WIN - WE LOSE.
When the main benefit of the agreement to not criticize the Black Progressive who is in power is they receive the cover of silence to execute their agenda without the necessary results whatever their agenda is grows stronger while the INTEGRITY of the Black Community's institutions collapse in the wake. )

My arguments are a demand for consistency, replacing the present "Protection Racket" that is transpiring among the ranks of those who purport to speak for the interests of the Black community.

It is clear that the phrase coined by the Congressional Black Caucus some 35 years ago has not endured today's conditions "No Permanent Friends, Only Permanent Interests".

If you listen to Black-Wing Talk Radio you will hear heavy references about how the people should have received the bailouts rather than the banks. Yet when there is a program that does indeed try to help the people and yet the funds are about to be lost because they have gone unutilized - there points to a problem with administration and marketing of the "rescue".

Ultimately my analysis is less about Obama and more of an indictment of the prevailing consciousness that is seen WITHIN the Black Community. Obama is merely a catalyst that provokes them into exposing themselves for who they really are. They are seen covering their tracks with their claims that Obama is under constant "racist attacks" and they must put their interests into forbearance lest this Black man receive attacks. If Clarence Thomas or Allen West could be so lucky to receive this protection.

This underscores the point that what we have is an IDEOLOGICAL protection racket that is given the face of RACIAL protective cover. Ironically the EFFECTIVE RESULTS that are received by Black people are not transparently appraised by those with the loudest voices within our community. Instead many of the Embedded Confidence Men have lost lists of "Obama Accomplishments" on their web page and the Obama Fist Bump Black Press has a similar artifact except they put it in the form of a written article.

The corruption is seen in the fact that the list of accomplishment for one's friend and damage to Black people lodged against the enemy has no integrity beyond the thumb that the author has on the scale.

They fail to understand that there are actual Black people suffering in the wake of their shenanigans

When one of my nieces asked why I was taking time from my studies and work to campaign to save Troy Davis, I explained that even though we’re all busy, some things require us to stop and take action. Getting justice for Troy Davis was such a thing.

I also explained that some people believe that those who break the law should be rehabilitated, while some people believe they should be punished. For those who believe in punishment, some believe that those who commit horrible crimes (like murder) should be given horrible punishments (like the death sentence).

I understand the desire to punish, especially when you are hurt or angry, or if you have no faith in Divine justice. Even if it seems reasonable to kill someone, because that person killed someone, however, is it reasonable if even one innocent man is killed? Troy Davis was not the first man to die at the hands of the United States justice system, when there was much more than reasonable doubt of his guilt. He will probably not be the last. I signed Amnesty International's Pledge to fight to abolish the death penalty, because I don't want any more blood on my hands:

The state of Georgia shamefully executed Troy Davis on September 21, 2011 despite serious doubts about his guilt.

But Not In My Name.

While a majority of the world – more than 65% of all countries – has abolished the death penalty in law or practice, the United States remains one of the top countries responsible for executing people.

Not In My Name.

Officials continue to allow this deeply-flawed, extremely arbitrary and severely-biased (both economically and racially) system to run rampant without checks, balances or concern for moral decency.

Not In My Name.

Guilty or innocent every person is a human being with human rights. Executions are always wrong.

I won't stand for it.

THE DEATH PENALTY MUST BE ABOLISHED. I take this pledge because human rights and human lives are on the line.

Words From A Witness At The Scene Who Recanted:

Troy Davis was at the scene of the crime but did not shoot the officer, a source today told Redding News Review.
The source, who appeared on a broadcast of Redding News Review, says that both Davis and Sylvester "Red" Coles were committing a crime when officer Mark McPhail intervened.
McPhail was then shot by Coles, the source said. A manhunt ensued and criminals were rounded up and offered deals to testify against whoever was caught for the crime, in an effort to close the case.

Analysis - This first hand account is in line with my personal opinions after watching the events associated with this case for years. Coles should ALSO have been sentenced for the officer's murderer. The police made a mistake in accepting the deal with Coles in which he agreed to "snitch" on Davis in exchange for not being prosecuted.

I am confused, however, as to why Mr. Redding calls Davis' execution a "lynching" when he was involved in the crime that triggered the now dead officer's intervention and then untimely death.

Georgia killed Troy Davis

After a torturous delay of more than 4 hours, the State of Georgia killed Troy Anthony Davis on the 21st September 2011. Davis was pronounced dead at 23:08 (03:08 GMT Thursday), 15 minutes after the lethal injection began.

"I am innocent," Davis said moments before he was executed. "I did not have a gun. For those about to take my life, may God have mercy on your souls. May God bless your souls. All I can ask... is that you look deeper into this case so that you really can finally see the truth. I ask my family and friends to continue to fight this fight."

Like many across the world my heart is heavy. I am sad and angry. The state of Georgia has proven what we already know. Governments cannot be trusted with the awful power over life and death. Today, Georgia didn't just kill Troy Davis; they killed the faith and confidence that many Georgians, Americans and Troy Davis supporters worldwide used to have in the criminal justice system.

The state of Georgia has proven that the death penalty is too great a power to give to the government. Human institutions are prone to bias and error and cannot be entrusted with this God-like power. The death penalty is a human rights violation whether given to the guilty or the innocent, and it must be abolished. While many courts examined this case, the march to the death chamber only slowed, but never stopped. Justice may be blind; but in this case, the justice system was blind to the facts.

The case against him consisted entirely of witness testimony which contained inconsistencies even at the time of the trial. Since then, all but two of the state's non-police witnesses from the trial have recanted or contradicted their testimony. Many of these witnesses have stated in sworn affidavits that they were pressured or coerced by police into testifying or signing statements against Troy Davis. One of the two witnesses who has not recanted his testimony is Sylvester "Red" Coles — the principle alternative suspect, according to the defence, against whom there is new evidence implicating him as the gunman. Nine individuals have signed affidavits implicating Sylvester Coles.

Troy said the day before he was executed;

"The struggle for justice doesn't end with me. This struggle is for all the Troy Davises who came before me and all the ones who will come after me. I'm in good spirits and I'm prayerful and at peace."

It is only perhaps in America with its addiction to violence, to guns and to retribution that killing a person who did not commit a crime makes sense and gives false closure to the family of the victim. It is only in American with its obsession with retribution and vengeance that the huge diversion of resources to maintaining a fallible and brutal death penalty and imprisoning 1 in 10 young black men that this makes sense. It is only in America does it make sense to station troops in 143 countries of the world, not ask what the motive was for the vicious attack on 9/11 and launch a murderous war on Iraq which had nothing to do with the events of 9/11 to keep America “safe.”

The vicious death penalty does nothing to keep Americans safe nor does the sad addiction to guns. Only in the Deep South does it make sense to keep a black man in prison for 22 years and then take him out and execute him when the case against him has fallen apart. This "Freedom Loving Democracy" which refuses to sign up to the International Criminal Court and kills innocents with "precision" drones well away from media coverage is in no position to lecture other brutal execution luvin' regimes in China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and Saudi Arabia (the place the 9/11 guys came from) on Human Rights.

Let's take a moment to honour the life of Troy Davis and Mark MacPhail. Then, let's take all of our difficult feelings and re-double our commitment to abolition of the death penalty.

I am Troy Davis. You are Troy Davis. We will not stop fighting for justice.

I am on the road right now so I don't have the ability to capture video as I do when I am at home.

Thanks to the magic of Sling Box technology I was able to watch metro-Atlanta news from afar.
I noted that little has changed since we heard hundreds of bleary eyed people vow "This Will Never Happen Again!!!!!".

The News That Another Local Cabbie Has Been Shot On The South Side

There is no better line up that could demonstrate the "Grand Canyon-sized" gap between what is actually going on on the streets versus what the Civil Rights Pharisees who are bound by their own ideological bigotry are able to see is the main threat to the Black Community.

Just yesterday as I was walking down the street of the city that I am visiting I had 3 cabs honk at me to see if I needed a ride. I - a BLACK MAN - appeared to not register fear about what might happen if they allowed me into their vehicle. If we go to College Park/East Point Georgia (near Atlanta Airport) - and note that 2 of their peers have been shot over the last few months (one murdered - the one last night survived) is it reasonable for them to "profile" who they allow into their cab after dark and depending on the area that they are presently in?

The real question for the Civil Rights Pharisees to ask before they protest against the "profiling" is - "WHY does a commercial cab driver even have to be put in the predicament by which he needs to fear for his life? Beyond sanctioning his company - what is your plan of engagement for making the ominous threat that they face subside? ".

Clearly empty rhetoric and feigned offense is not working.
