I Agreed With Columnist Cynthia Tucker On Banning Minority Gerrymandered Districts Until I Actually Read Her Article

Cynthia Tucker: Voting Rights Act - I Was Wrong About Racial Gerrymandered Districts

I read the title of Ms Tucker's opinion column and was prepared to congratulate her, without prejudice, on her coming to the point where I have been standing for a long period of time as I watched the OUTCOMES of the "Racially Gerrymandered Districts" and realized the unintended consequences.

As I read the content and justification for her new found position I was forced to withdraw my endorsement but retain my agreement with the policy change.

The key difference between my analysis and Ms Tuckers is that:
  • She focuses on the "White Republican" districts that are created as Black are packed into districts that elect a reliable Black Progressive Democrat
  • I focus on the impact WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY where the VICTORY of the "Black Racial Services Machine" candidate DOES NOT often translate into a benefit for the interests of ORGANIC UPLIFT for the Black Community.
I am desperate for understanding as to why Black Progressive-Fundamentalists such as Cynthia Tucker are so loathed to focus upon the results of what they SOLD the Black Community as they affirmatively marketed the benefits of their strategy to the Black community.   In a strange parallel to the banking meltdown in America........NO ONE GOT FIRED OR ARRESTED for their malfeasance.  In fact - the same players within the Black Racial Services Machine are now on the central planning committee that is plotting the new strategy for the Black Community in the next interval of time.  The "Perpetual Struggle" continues.

Mrs Tucker chooses to focus on the lily-White Conservative districts that are developed as a result of the Voting Rights Act permissiveness of racially gerrymandered districts.  She is unwilling to make note of the trends that the US Census has documented which shows that "Black Flight Progressives" are exiting these "Mission Accomplished Districts", ironically moving into closer proximity with their long term ideological enemies in pursuit of their "Black Community Interests".   They see the difference between the INTENTION for delivery and the actual ATTAINMENT.

This points to the grand flaw of Ms Tucker's analysis.   Ms Tucker has access to far more information sources than I do - per her affiliation with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.   Of course she has seen all of the data from the US Census.   As one who has little inclination to change course AND document where she was incorrect in her previous position as it relates to the direct impact WITHIN the Black community - Ms Tucker saves face by "Keeping Her Enemy On Trial".

"The Urban Strategy" is as true as the "Southern Strategy" and yet it receives less analysis as to the motivations and flawed outcomes.  I have learned that I should be content that my ideological adversaries HAVE CHANGED and just retain the knowledge to myself that they reluctantly agree with my analysis.
