I Hereby Give Credit To The City Of Atlanta For Their Park Revitalization Program

I give the City of Atlanta and Council Man Kwanzaa Hall a pat on the back for investing public funds into two public parks that are in a part of the city that is suffering the stress of democgraphic change.

I have made several reports about the problems in the "Old Fourth Ward" of the city. "Old Fourth Ward Park" was considered a "Killing Field" as the television camera crews went their constantly to report on issues related to drug use and violence.

Old Fourth Ward park has been cleaned up and made into a skateboard park. Another park in the area was reopened after suffering extensive damage from the downtown tornado of a few years ago.

On an expanded subject - I am not "feeling" the free vegetable handouts by Fulton County. I agree that they should hold sessions for consciousness in healthy eating. I would rather see them engage in a "public private partnership" to get more stores that sell fresh produce in these "food deserts". It should also be noted that once the stores come in - the people need to support them. I am thinking of one such Black owned small "farmers market" that people pass by on their way to a Korean owned grocery store in the plaza across the street.
