With all the facts so far known about the London riots -- 700 people arrested, 16000 police on the streets, unrest in half a dozen cities over four long nights -- it's surprising how little has yet to emerge about the rioters themselves:The riots sparked last Saturday in Tottenham have since engulfed several other areas of London, with looting and damaged property reported in Hackney, Peckham, Lewisham, Clapham, Newham, Ealing, Bethnal Green, Chelsea, and Croydon. Looting and violence has also been reported in Birmingham and Liverpool.

Scotland Yard says it has arrested 225 people so far, charging 36 of them. “The violence we have seen is simply inexcusable,” Met Commander Christine Jones said in a statement. “Ordinary people have had their lives turned upside down by this mindless thuggery. The Met will ensure that those responsible will face the consequences of their actions and be arrested.”

Violence and looting flared across London after a young man, Mark Duggan, 29 , was shot to death by police. A group of violent youths setting buildings, vehicles, garbage bins on fire, breaking and looting stores, pelting police officers with bottles and fireworks. All these are happening in a city, where the 2012 Summer Olympics is to be hosted in less than a year.

All these are happening in a city, where the 2012 Summer Olympics is to be hosted in less than a year.On the other hand, police have vowed to hunt down the thugs who used social media to organise the riots in London, a media report said Tuesday.

Detectives called in forensic computer experts to trace the accounts of thugs using Twitter and BlackBerry Messenger.

Both services have been used to co-ordinate attacks on police and announce meeting points and targets for rioters and looters, The Sun newspaper reported.

Police warned that thugs who fanned the flames of violence will be tracked down and will face hefty prison terms.

Countless looters also posted messages openly bragging about their hauls. One idiot even uploaded a photo of himself behind DVDs, electrical goods and muscle-building supplements, the newspaper said.

Police vowed to release CCTV images of the violence, and urged the public to help them identify the thugs.

Scotland Yard's Deputy Assistant Commissioner Steve Kavanagh confirmed police are looking into Twitter and Blackberry's instant messaging service.

He said many messages were "inflammatory" and "inaccurate" and warned that users face arrest if they encourage looters or co-ordinate attacks.

Groups of thieves hell-bent on grabbing mobile phones, TVs, games consoles and clothes used social media to agree on their targets.

 Amy Winehouse Cause of death:

Amy Winehouse Cause of death has not yet known but singer was stugling with DRUGS and Alcohol Problem

Amy Winehouse, the beehived soul-jazz diva whose self-destructive habits overshadowed a distinctive musical talent, was found dead Saturday in her London home, police said. She was 27.

Ms. Winehouse shot to fame with the album “Back to Black,” whose blend of jazz, soul, rock and classic pop was a global hit. It won five Grammys and made Winehouse — with her black beehive hairdo and old-fashioned sailor tattoos — one of music's most recognizable stars.

British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse has reportedly been found dead at her home in London.

She was found this afternoon. Her death has been described as “unexplained”.

She last appeared in public earlier this week during a surprise appearance at London’s iTunes Festival where she joined god-daughter Dionne Bromfield onstage.

Her European tour was cancelled a month ago after a poorly-received performance in Belgrade.

Singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home in Camden, north London, at the age of 27, police have confirmed.

Officers were called by the ambulance service to an address in NW1 just after 4pm today.

Police confirmed that a 27-year-old female was pronounced dead at the home in Camden Square northern London; the cause of death was not immediately known. London Ambulance Services said Winehouse had died before the two ambulance crews it sent arrived at the scene.

"On arrival, officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene," a police statement said.
