Rachel Chatterjee, retired IAS officer, has been appointed chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission -APPSC. AP government issued orders to this effect on Friday making her the first woman to be appointed to the prestigious post. Ms. Chatterjee, who retired in the rank of Special Chief Secretary, Agriculture, in December, 2010.
A.P. Study Circle has invited applications from eligible SC, ST and BC candidates who have cleared the APPSC Group-I Preliminary Exam, for admission into its free coaching programme for the Mains. Selection will be based on an average of prelims score and average of study marks calculated from SSC onwards, with equal weightage given to both. All districts will get equal representations.
