Purity or Change

What has changed the women today compared to those of the past. Yes we still have women who know how totake care of themselves, the way they speak, dress, they way they present themselves, etc. But slowly the world is changing, what was wrong 10 years ago seems to be ok today.

When I came to the UCKG i was taught about how to dress, carry myself and mostly the Holy Spirit did a great work in helping me to change from mini skirts to comfortable clothes that present me as a women of God. This does not mean to have or buy expensive clothes, No! It means to be clean, neat, and cover the parts of your body that should not be revealed. I miss and remember those teachings. Why is it that today we see young women in the house of God wearing topless tops, mini skirts? Some say it's hot and honestly to many it has become fashion and does not seem wrong. Maybe the problem is us who were taught and are not teaching others, maybe we teach but it falls on deaf ears, but in the end everyone has a right to choose if they listen to the voice of God, weather spoken through an assistant, pastor, or pastor wife. The important thing is to listen and obey and put into practice because when God sees our efforts to change, He helps us.

There is nothing wrong to dress in a fashionable way, however as women of God we cannot forget who we serve and who we represent. What we wear says a lot about us, about who we are and tells peaople who we are.

The bible says "Let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good." Job 34:4

We constantly seek to please God with our lives, looking for ways we can do better in what we do, in what we think, what we wear always wanting to change for the better. Here is a thought: In your commitment to change, maybe you should start where you shop (that's if you dress in an improper way); start within your self. Many times we want our lives, the situation to change, we want other people to change and maybe the change in our surrounding situations will start with us. Just a thought: maybe the change should start from withing. Within me, within you, withing us.

It also says: "A discerning man keeps wisdom in view, but a fool's eyes wander to the ends of the earth." Proverbs 17:24

God bless you!
