Usual Place

What happens to a life of a servant who likes to be in his or her usual place?

"The boy Samuel ministered before the LORD under Eli. In those days the word of the LORD was rare; there were not many visions. One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was. Then the LORD called Samuel. Samuel answered, "Here I am." And he ran to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." But Eli said, "I did not call; go back and lie down." So he went and lay down." 1 Samuel 3

When you are a servant you should always revive, renew you faith. When you relax and if you enjoy being in your comfort zone - your resting place, God cannot use you. God stops speaking to you and you lose the vision. You become old in spirit.

God could not speak to Eli anymore because he was always in his usual place, relaxing. God was however able to call and use Samuel for he was ready to hear the voice of God.

One servant could not be used by God anymore for he was weak and had lost the vision, he was always in his usual place. And the other could not be still in the place where he had to lie down because he was ready to hear from God and do as he says.

Rate yourself, where have you fallen from?
