NewsOne.com + TheGrio.com: How To Properly Appraise The Recently Announced Alliance Of Black Progressive News Feeds

MSNBC's The Grio.com And NewsOne.Com Form A Digital Alliance To Spread (Progressive-Fundamentalist) African American News

A few years back one of my Black Progressive debate adversaries on a Black debate forum said something to the effect of:

You Can't Help The Black Community If You Don't Love Black People First

I don't disagree with the statement.
At the time I merely disagreed with his notion of what LOVE is.

The Constructive Feedback Enhancement to this claim is:
You Can't Claim To Have An Agenda To Advance The Permanent Interests Of The Black Community If An Assessment Shows That You Are More Interested In Focusing Upon Indictments Of Popular EXTERNAL Ideological Adversaries To The Black Community In Its Present Conscious State More Than You Care To Review The Benefits Received From The Promises Made By The Incumbent Powers That Control The Black Community's Key Human Resource Development Institutions

Just admit that you are an operative in the "American Political Domain", that Black people are more interested in politics than we are in community development - and in your disclosure you won't need to be held to any assumptions other than what you now admit to be.

In my view LOVE is not only showing the person that you care and appreciate him "where he presently stands" and you show compassion for his condition - with the hopes that by seeing your true heart he will grow to trust you and your intention.  Indeed this is the common disposition of the progressive.  In their intention of providing "Good News" to lift the spirits of Black people - they are often as guilty as are our popular adversaries because in their good intentions - they showcase a model of our community that lacks the FIDELITY of that which is actually upon the streets in the real world.

My particular disposition, then, is to walk behind those who have the best of intentions for our communities and who have successfully implemented their proposed strategy for uplift (mostly via their joint-partnerships) and then dare to TELL THE TRUTH about why there remains such a large gap between the PROMISES of what was going to be in the future as the Black community stood Ideologically United - and invested our 'Equal Black Ballot' and fused our "Black Community Counsciousness' into this cause that was to bring us great fortune and relief in the future.

What greater love can you show for an object of your Agape Love than to make an assessment of his full potential, make note of his present stance and dare to provide "constructive feedback" as to his performance of the machinations that cause him to remain in his inferior position?

IF his real agenda is to be made whole then there will be more appreciation shown to those who are able to get past their FEELINGS and need for stroking as they learn to value the 'directed outcomes' which may require them to endure some pain as they work to correct that which they don't like to see in the mirror.

In The Spirit Of "Fool Me Once"..........I Am Forced To Give A Vote Of No Confidence In Digital News Alliance Between NewsOne.Com and The Grio.Com - Based On The Lack Of Transparency In The Individual Parts Of The New Whole

When they were separate entities - provided with a blank HTML work space - free to publish content of their own choosing (or in the case of The Grio - able to push back upon MSNBC as they refused to compromise the principles of the Black Community) both NewOne.com and TheGrio.com had the opportunity to publish content that had fidelity - not just with the popular expectations that can be found within the Black Community but their insight on how we might achieve a fix or more effective mitigation of the problem set.

When left alone both of these properties (along with The Root.com) chose to echo the status quo of contemporary Black Progressive-Democratic Party biased perspectives - which is firmly entrenched within our community dogma of the day.   Indeed this is a quick way to ratings success among the Black consumers who are likely to assist them in attracting ad dollars.  This track also works to ensure their sponsors - Comcast and MSNBC - that their ventures have the potential for profit.  News and views to the liking of the Black Progressive audience - and a direct outlet to the Black community in which the conscious attention of this "underserved" community might be cultivated for future benefit to the corporate interests.

As an observer, analyst and documentarian of "What Makes The Political Mind Of Black America Tick" I take the audacious position that by holding these new brand of "Black Press Portals" up to the reference of the "Black Community Permanent Interests" all can make a transparent assessment of their ultimate worth.

I yield that there is a debate as to the proper methodological gateway toward achieving this desired end.  The failing of this new genre of journalistic expression is that THEY are not the one who will ever put the BLACK RACIAL SERVICES MACHINE ON TRIAL - on their way to finding the most efficient pathway to this end.

THEY ARE OPERATIVES in possession of a given METHODOLOGY: Progressive-Fundamentalism.

On their pages can be found the "Voice Of Obama, the Democratic Party and Progressivism".   Sparse is the voice who stands - unpurchased - speaking in the voice of Black America that has INVESTED in the methodology listed above and is looking out for the promised returns.

My goal is not to play a game of "Gotcha" in which they are exposed as biased partisans (which they are).
My mission is to appraise if they are EFFECTIVE at compelling enough of a challenge to the present prevailing Black Community Development Consciousness so that 30 to 50 years in the future the outcomes that our people live within will be materially better than what we live with at present.

What more disarming of an engagement can I offer than to have those who CLAIM to have the "Black Community's Permanent Interests In Mind" to show transparency in their reporting and PROVE IT?

Where is the love?
Where is the line over which you will not cross because of your love?

Corporate Partnership

Note:  Comcast is now the owner of NBC.
The corporate ownership of these two "Black News Outlets" got fused together as Comcast purchased NBC Universal from General Electric.

Could THIS be the primary precipitating reason for the joint-venture?

Key Content Contributors
  • Progressive Political Preacher Rev Al Sharpton
  • Dr Boyce Watkins
  • Prof Melissa Harris-Perry (Of The Nation magazine)

Note For Clarification:

News One is jointly owned by Radio One and the Comcast Corporation.   News One is structured as a separate entity from Comcast.

The ownership percentages are not readily available (but I will continue to investigate)

It is clear that this is merely a consolidation of "Black Progressive Opinion" channels following the acquisition of the NBC Universal empire by the Comcast corporation.   The cross pollination of the Black Progressive-Fundamentalist voices that had already existed when these entities were separated have now been made official.  The press release is merely a ruse - attempting to convince the Black Progressive consumer that a consolidation was actually an AFFIRMATION of their value.

Does it surprise anyone when I observe that both of these propaganda  news sources are seen focusing more on Republican Herman Cain than they inspect the sitting President Of The United States at a time of great consternation within the Black community?

One must ask if their ultimate mission is to speak from the VOICE OF BLACK AMERICA - demanding that those who have RECEIVED our:

  • Equal Black Ballots
  • Fused Black Community Consciousness
to come through on their promises

OR   are they corporate cost centers - in the bowels of the Comcast conglomerate who's agenda is to keep the Black community's struggle LEANING FORWARD - following the carrot that they have allowed to perpetually dangle in front of us?

(And the word is that the Black CONSERVATIVE is the "sellout".Its a good thing we have all of these "Black" media sources that will let us know the truth about who the sellout is. )
