The day for which Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara has been waiting for a long time has turned up. It was a big day for Prabhu Deva as he was granted divorce with his wife Latha aka Ramlath on (July 2) at the family court in Chennai. The couple has ended up their 15 years of family life on Saturday.

Following this, the case came up for hearing on July 2nd and both Prabhu and Ramlath were present. All documents pertaining to the property settlement was submitted to the court and this took over two hours. Then the magistrate announced that the final decision on the case will be made on July 7. It is expected that their divorce will come through on July 7.

Prabhu Deva and Ramlath have submitted a joint affidavit in the family court seeking mutual divorce on Dec 29, 2010. The court has asked them to appear for the final settlement on June 30th but the couple failed to appear stating reasons for their inability to attend. The Magistrate has posted the case to July 10th, 2011.

It was a filmy twist; Prabhu Deva and Ramlath have suddenly appeared before the Magistrate on Saturday and the divorce was granted. According to the sources it is known that Prabhu Deva has avoided to appear in court on June 30th just to stay far from media and instead opt for Saturday.

Looks like Prabhu Deva will have to face some problems in obtaining divorce from Ramlath. Their divorce petition came up for final hearing on June 30, but both the parties were not present at the court. The magistrate then posted the hearing to July 10.

The news of Prabhu and Latha appearing in court was out by afternoon and a huge group of reporters from print media and electronic media were waiting outside the court to hear the judgment.

Initial enquiries revealed that, Prabhu Deva is busy shooting the Vishal-Sameera Reddy starrer in Kolkata and could not attend the court proceedings. But it turned out that Prabhu Deva is to go abroad and so filed a petition to take up the case before July 10.

After he was sanctioned divorce, Prabhu who came out of the court refused to speak to the media.

The divorce between Prabhu Deva and Latha has come after a lot of dirty linen was washed in public. Doubts about their troubled marriage were cast away when Latha filed a petition for the restoration of her conjugal rights. She openly accused the actress Nayanthara of stealing her husband and also sought a restraint order to prevent Prabhu Deva from meeting and marrying Nayantara.

Now the next big question on everybody’s lips is- “When will Prabhu Deva enter wed lock with Nayanthara?”
