The Telangana Joint Action Committee on Monday announced a week-long agitation starting with a 48-hour bandh on Tuesday and Wednesday in pursuit of its demand of statehood. Many schools and colleges have announced holidays on both days. Autorickshaws and buses will be off the roads. The MMTS service on the Falaknuma-Secunderabad route has been withdrawn till 12 noon on Tuesday. Other components of the TJAC plan are: wStudents’ rallies in Telangana villages on July 7 w 48-hour ‘rail roko’ on July 8 and 9.

Stickers used to earmark T leaders’ cars
Stickers proclaiming “Resigned Telangana MLA” sprouted on the cars of legislators after they quit en masse on Monday. As much as it is a declaration of their commitment to Telangana, it was also an insurance against possible attacks by statehood protagonists. The Congress MLA, Mr R. Damodar Reddy said, “This is to clearly identify the MLAs and MLCs who have resigned their seats for Telangana.”
