David Swerdlick Remix - Black Republicans Need A "Black Barack Obama" Not A "Black Ronald Reagan"

Dear Mr Swerdlick - I just "ate dinner with you". Thank you for the company.

I have the fully marked up copy of your article in front of me.  I have to give you credit at your spinning skills.

The first post was my overall philosophy based on the cursory review of your article.
This post is a rebuttal of some key arguments that you have made - note that I had a chance to underline the key points.

You Didn't Like The White Ronald Reagan.  You Wouldn't Like A Black Republican Ronald Reagan.

Why did you choose a "Black Ronald Reagan" instead of a "Black Republican Barack Obama"?

Interesting that you chose to enumerate the "elected Black Republicans" who nobody cared to hear their opinions:

• Rep JC Watts (R-OK)
• Secretary Of State  Ken Blackwell (R-OH) - [Indeed you cared when he chose to enforce the law about the rules for voter registration.  He was said to be a 'Black vote suppressor' for enforcing the rules]

You didn't like Watts nor Blackwell.

Do you find it odd that you now trumpet Obama's "Hawkishness" on the "War On Terrorism" and his use of the same Navy Seals who shot 3 Somalian Sea Pirates in the forehead to save the life of a White ship captain to go to sovereign nation of Pakistan to shoot Osama Bin Ladin in the head.   You didn't call this head shot "torture" or failure to give the terrorist 'due process' in the same way his Camp Gitmo compatriots were said to have a right to per your friends at the ACLU.

You say that the "fight against Gay Marriage was LOST".........what attribute WITHIN the Black community was "WON" in this battle Mr Swerdlick?    You see - as a Progressive-Fundamentalist you are able to free up the strictures of cultural oppression to express what you call "freedom".   I suggested before that people listen to the conversations among Black people around "Father's Day" and then note the "organic pain" that is abundant between:

• Black Males and their female mates
• Black Males and their sons and daughters

With the "Progressive Base Hit" of "Gay Marriage" secured there is a massive strike out on the far, far, far, far larger domain of Black male/female intimate relationships.   It appears that the difficulty comes when you require people to yield themselves to a greater authority as a means of producing synergy within our community.   It seems to me that our community keeps LOSING at what matters the most from a PROPORTIONAL perspective as you use the advantage of your keyboard to tell us about our "victories" to your liking.

The theme of my criticism of you is your selecitve ability to cherry pick "victories" as you pass by the abundant among of grieving of our people.  

Those who are compelled to make "Happy Black People" per their will to produce "good news stories" as a cover for their unwillingness to do sufficient CHECKS AND BALANCES of the institutions WITHIN the Black Community so that "directed outcomes" can be had.

It seems to me, Mr Swerdlick that you pulled a slight of hand by inserting Ronald Reagan - who you didn't like instead of Commander In Chief Barack Obama.

In your article you didn't say that Reagan attracted "working class Democrats" to the GOP.   You did not say BLACK Democrats to the GOP.   With Ronald Reagan serving as the keystone to Progressive-Fundamentalist angst - it is just irrational for you to suggest a "Black Republican Ronald Reagan".   

Therein lies the slight of hand in your article.

Why didn't you suggest a "Black Republican Barack Obama"?

Black Republicans Need a Black Republican Barack Obama...............

• ................To have Black voters to look past the present Depression Level 16.2% Black Unemployment Rate and instead Invest Their "Equal Black Ballots" in the hopes that in his second term he will lower this rate
• ...............To have Black voters to show their appreciation that the Black Republican Obama has retired the label "No Child Left Behind" which angered so many Black Progressives and not have them focus on the fact that the POLICY REMAINS IN PLACE - its name just has been retired.
• Think about the possibilities Mr Swerdlick - You can deploy Cord Jefferson to sell the crowd on how well "Race To The Top" has reformed Black Education - even though its funding was a mere fraction of the "No Child Left Behind" (NCLB was merely a reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act which was created in the 1960's)
• ...............To have the Imperialist forces of the US Military Command to bomb African nations with unmanned Predator Drones and not trigger massive "anti-war protests" among Black people because the "Black Republican Obama" told them all that this was a "Humanitarian War" - he even got certain Progressive Anti-War members of the Congressional Black Caucus to approve the spending.  THAT'S POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You see Mr Swerdlick - I have been observing it all.

All the while I fretted over "Tavis Smiley And His Progressive Friends On Stage" in the "State Of The Black Union" show on C-SPAN - wondering what Dr Juleanne Malveaux would say to make me scream at the television.  Who would have ever guessed that the way to torpedo this gathering of Black Progressives was to get a more COMPELLNG Black Progressive in the "American Political Domain" to attract Black people over to his orbit?

Leaning Forward To Avoid Self Indictments
Here is the problem, Mr Swerdlick - the Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chasers control the MESSAGING within the Black community.

• Those who the congregation agrees are "enemies of Blackness" (Rupert Murdock, Rush Limbugh) - are to be spat upon
• Those issues that the congregation agrees are our friend and thus should not be attacked - receive a pass and positive marketing.
• Stay tuned for my observations about the coverage of the FUTURE of Detroit by "Ebony Magazine" and NPR's "Tell Me More".

Mr Swerdlick - just imagine that RONALD REAGAN was mayor of Detroit Michigan:

• Presided over one of the largest collapse in Black intergenerational wealth per the loss of housing values that collapsed
• The destruction of a Black middle class as LABOR POLICIES were interjected upon a the city and as a critical excellerant of the results. 
• Hundreds of thousands of Black school children that attended the Detroit Public Schools that were controlled by the same machine that Mayor Reagan was a part of had their development tract stunted with the machine being largely culpable for the eventual results
• The local NAACP who was said to be the guardians of the Black Interests in Detroit per the presence of one of its largest chapters - never set off the warning signs about the city's eventual demise IF the machine continued in power without the sufficent checks and balances necessary to retain the Black Community's interests

JUST IMAGE this scenrio Mr Swerdlick - NOW imagine if the machine was DEMOCRATIC-PROGRESSIVE.
