THE ART OF COWARDICE

All things considered, this looks about right to me
I'm tired of cowardice. It goes hand in hand with greed. Put them together and you've got tabs on most of the slimy white men who run the planet... at the expense of everyone else.

For me, the brave man is not the one who most easily leaps from the trench to charge into enemy fire. Rather, it's the bloke who is scared to death but finds the wherewithal to leap from the trench and charge despite his fear.

The true hero is the person who sticks by what they believe, regardless of the pressures or costs. Or the person who makes sacrifices to pursue their dreams. Or the person who endures hardship, brought on through no fault of their own, while dishonest men rake in the money and acclaim and phony awards.

And these are the people who will change the world. Make no mistake. These are the people who will throw the 21st century money lenders out of the temple.

It's okay to be scared. It's not okay for it to run your life or make your decisions for you.

So let me keep this blog post short and sweet and close it by calling out the elitist cowards by profiling them (kind of beating them with their own stick):

The modern-day coward hides behind a cell phone, a phony speech, the privilege of position, money, lies, a gun, an army, misused education, subterfuge, rhetoric, silk suits, private jets, "minders," the safety of distance, buffer zones, press agents, public relations firms, bogus figures, slick propaganda, scripted events, connections, pardons, nepotism, excuses...

The modern-day coward will be extinct in the not-too-distant future. But it's up to us to make that happen. If their extinction comes from their own avarice and stupidity, they'll take us all out with them.

I guess I'm just feeling a bit p****d off but when the countdown on all that is happening, I'll be out in the streets doing what I can. I have a bumper sticker that reads: IF YOU'RE NOT OUTRAGED, YOU AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION. Sometimes when you pay attention on a daily basis, you feel like you're choking on the BS.

And that will tend tick you off.

Ah well. We live to fight another day, eh?

Hang tough,
Adrian Zupp
