Over 300 youngsters, including 60 girls, were detained after the Raigad Police busted a rave party in a hotel near Mumbai-Pune highway late on Sunday night as the world observed Anti-Narcotics Day.
Apart from seizing a large quantity of drugs from the venue -- Mount View Hotel -- the police also apprehended a narcotics cell inspector Anil Jadhav, who allegedly helped organise the rave party, was also arrested.
Investigations so far revealed that most of the detained youth were from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. They were in the age group of 20 to 30 years. Many of them were released after their blood samples were taken. The police said they would arrest people whose samples test positive for narcotics abuse under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
According to police, an event management company Beyond Logic had organised the rave party. Invitations were sent through well-known social networking websites like Facebook. So far one of the organisers has been arrested while one more was absconding.
