UNC Study: Some Black Males Live Longer In Prison Than In The Black Community - What Does This Say About The Community Managers?

African-American prisoners protected against alcohol- and drug-related deaths, but pattern doesn't hold for white men, study finds

While I take these study results with a grain of salt it does bring up some interesting questions.

What about the Black community with its prevailing consciousness is unable to produce a safe environment where Black males are able to thrive as "pillars of the community"?   While prison is a highly regulated environment, their actions under strict control by the governing forces - their freedoms largely stripped away - is there sufficient (positive) culture strictures that DIRECT Black males into "directed outcomes" in line with our community needs?
