Bible Reading of the month – Galatians
'Sisterhood'
On the 1st July I began to read the book of Galatians from the word of God. We are reading this book for this month in sisterhood – this is to help us grow spiritually.
In the 1st chapter of the book Paul stresses about the gospel, pointing out that there is no other Gospel than the one we already know. The one of the Lord Jesus. In his words he condemned the one that preaches a gospel other than the one of God – the gospel that is life and truth.
Paul could not care about what people thought of him, if they hated him or not – he was a man of truth as the gospel he preached. He was not afraid of man or being harmed by man, his calling was to speak of God's truth and he did so without being afraid.
Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10
If Paul lived to please men, he would not be able to do the work of God. It is the same today – no one can serve two masters, please one while trying to please the opposite impossible! It's either you serve one God or the other.
A servant of God cannot try to please other people or else he / she will lose the vision for the work of God.
