R10 Challenge
Last Friday 9th July 2010, we at work began a challenge.
Challenge: Spend only R10 a day on your lunch. The idea came about when we realised that we spend a lot of money just on breakfast or lunch in a day – by the end of the week we spent just above R300 a person and when you calculate a month, well it's just too much to spend on food alone during the time you are at work.
The idea now is that everyone brings lunch boxes or food from home, in order to help save the money that they would use in buying food.
Monday came and already the challenge is difficult for some and for others we are determined to save those notes that we waist in a day, a week and a month.
If you go and buy something in the store during your lunch hours, you bring back the slip and one of our colleagues keeps the records (well except mine because I keep mine for the sisterhood file). If a person does not use the whole money for the day, you can take the amount left and use it for the next day.
It's a good challenge I believe, because you save a lot on things that we do not need.
Thanks Prema for the challenge! It will surely help those who take it serious and are determined to save – like me rsrsrsrsrsrs!
