We receive the revelation from God. He is the one that reveals things to us. Many people have knowledge because of what others say to them or what the pastor preaches. The word of God becomes knowledge to them but this does not mean it has been revealed to them. Only God through the Holy Spirit reveals His gospel to us.

V14 Paul was extremely zealous for the traditions of his fathers. He used to persecute and destroy Christians. How can such a man be now a preacher of the gospel? Only through the revelation of God, with so much hate for Christians he would not have spread the gospel.

When God calls us, it's not for us to consult anyone. God's calling is between us and God! And Paul consulted no one but believed and allowed himself to be used. Sometimes when we consult people about making a decision or taking a step, they can influence us to do what they are saying and in the end we end up not doing the will of God but what others want.

Paul was being used by God because He allowed His will to prevail in His life and did not put a third person between him and God. The courage Paul had to destroy the church of God, He was using it for Paul to spread the Good News. 

"I pray that God may use my life, that I may allow myself to be used by Him for the glory of His name and to spread the gospel."
