Neo-Black Studies: From "The Compromise Of 1877" To "The Compromised State Of Consciousness In 2011"

The notion that "the victor pens his own accounting for history" has largely been proven true.  They assign a badge of honor to their past military pursuits and raise their combat leaders into heroes for the cause.
There also exists an abundance of works that seek to publish a narrative of these same historical events but from the other man's eyes.
Those who are seriously interested in understanding the truth will seek to first validate both of these sources of information and then reach a conclusion that is an interpolation of both of these perspectives.

People fail to understand that our present "current events" that appear in the newspaper or on-line is the "historical record" that people in the future will use to understand how the world came to be as it was handed to them.

The Compromise Of 1877 - The Black Man's Fate Was Sealed Due To The Choice For Politics Over Protection

Just as the American Civil War ended and the nation sought to heal the great wound that was opened due to the contentious battle over Slavery and the power to impose a higher order of human rights upon those who refused it due to their commercial interests - there was a US Presidential election that failed to put forth an uncontested winner.

The election which pitted Republican Rutherford B Hayes against Democrat Samuel Tilden came to a dead heat with the voting results from several states being contested.

After a series of weeks of back-room dealing the grand compromise was reached.  Rutherford B Hayes would become the 19th president of the United States based on the promise that he would remove federal troops from the South, thus allowing the post-Confederate Democratic forces to reestablish their rule over the area - and over Black people who resided there.

During the Reconstruction period in which White Southerners who had rebelled against the United States had abandoned (or were not permitted to participate in) the government over the states and the nation.

This brief period of time saw Black people step into the breach and successfully get elected to offices in state legislatures and the US House and Senate.

The federal troops that were posted in the area since the hostilities from the war had subsided were the reassuring presence for the benefit of Black people.  They were armed and thus were able to turn back the systematic violence that was used by the White Southerners who were not about to accept the "equal human being" who their laws had deemed as "chattel" - akin to a barnyard animal - as a fully equal citizens - with rights that are intrinsic to his human state.

Since the Republicans at the time wanted the PRESIDENCY more than they cared about the social justice rights of Black people in the South who were left exposed to the whims of their former "Slave Masters" - the deal was struck and the presidential inauguration took place.  The rest is history.

Every Black elected lawmaker from Louisiana to South Carolina was summarily ran out of office using a variety of tactics from corrupt laws called "Grandfather clauses" over to straight up violence in which he had to decide if he valued is life more than his elected seat.  In a short order of time the post-Confederates achieved their "Mission Accomplished state".  They had their control over the lands and government back.  The Black peoples were the purposeful casualty of this new order.

It took almost 100 years into the future before Black people had the equal protections afforded to them that the Civil Rights and Voting Rights laws of the 1960's had been executed into law.

The Compromised State Of Consciousness In 2011

To the serious students of Black history the year 2011 will go down as a seminal year with reference to the Black community and a party's quest for the American Presidential seat.

In 1877 a group of White people gathered in a smoke filled room in the guise of "Democrats and Republicans" and brokered a deal which removed defensive protections - thus allowing Black people to be exposed to the whims of their enemies.

In 2011 a group of Black Progressives gathered together in a room in which smoking was banned due to local ordinance per the common sentiment of the day.  They communicated to the rest of the world the impracticality of being openly critical of the present President Of The United States.   In their own quest - as "Democrats who are Black" to retain the seat of the presidency in 2012 - they chose to remove a vital protection that has been used by Black people - "Speaking Truth To Power".   Thus the big exposure of 2011 was that their masks have been removed and they have shown the rest of the world who they really are.

Those from the future who will later study the "Grand Compromised State Of 2011" will also notice that this move did NOT come at a time when Black America........................

  • ............Had a full employment rate - allowing our people to actively exchange their talents for financial compensation that served as a key element of their financial security as a community
  • ............Could look to the local "Mission Accomplished Cities" where the theories that they and their favored President support are in power - lifting Black people's standard of living up to new heights while developing ORGANIC COMPETENCIES within our people via the school systems and cultural institutions that they control
  • Is now choosing to not look at the deeds that the present "Commander In Chief" is utilizing American infantry men and the financial resources used to purchase guns instead of butter.   As these munitions are used to drop bombs on the continent of Africa - they have been lulled into silence.

I suspect that just as the exposure of Black people to the whims of individuals who did not have the interests in developing them as a people - the 2011 version in which forces that have a track record of also FAILING to develop our people - now receiving the protective cover of "congregational silence" will render our people in a similar condition.

The key distinction is that the next president - whether friend or foe - will suffer a bit of criticism from the same Black community as they mutually agree to "Speak Truth" about their present grievances.   That President need only point back to this present time and show them that when given the choice between dogged pursuit of their PERMANENT INTERESTS or protecting their permanent friend - they chose the later.

He need only ignore their taunts for it is clear that they are not serious.
