A Tale Of Two Drug Testing Proposals For "The Least Of These" - Where Only One Becomes A Hit Job

By far the greatest predictor to determine if certain unsavory news will be covered by the "Obama Fist Bump Black Press" is the question of who the target of indictment is.

In the past two weeks there have actually between two (that I know about) controversies in which Government Entitlement recipients were to be drug tested as a condition of the receipt of such transfer payments.

From Wikipedia
The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) is a municipal corporation established by the State of Illinois in 1937 with jurisdiction for the administrative oversight of public housing within the City of Chicago. The agency's mission is guided by a Board of Commissioners appointed by the city's mayor, and has a budget independent from that of the City of Chicago.

Ignore the fact that the CHA's new motto just happens to be the very same as the one used by
the man pictured in  the foreground who is from this city.

Unlike the forces in Florida they are not motivated by "right-wing" hatred in their drug testing policies

Please note - "Chicago Now" is a Progressive, muckraking web site which focuses on the affairs of Chicago. For no other reason than the fact that every institution in the city of Chicago is dominated by the Democratic machine - they are forced to "muckrake" against these Democratic Progressive institutions as a means of obtaining their desired ends.

When it comes to the "Obama Fist Bump Black Press" on a more national scale - they can't help themselves - as they skew each "attack story" as a means of indicting their (evil) conservative enemy.  See here from the Dr. Boyce Watkins' piece.

One would certainly expect conservatives to be the first to advocate healthy, drug-free living for all Americans. After all, Republicans are just so gosh darn drug-free themselves. Rush Limbaugh and others who condemn those with addiction issues are typically one scandal away from being exposed for their hypocritical condemnation of the poor.Scott's actions are a mere extension of pre-existing right wing rhetoric that blames the poor for the nation's woes. Rather than citing the massive Bush tax cuts as the cause of the existing federal budget crisis, Republicans have carefully framed the argument as one which says that we're doing too much for poor people, despite the fact that millions of Americans are barely squeaking by already. The right wing assault on the American value system is creating a world where the lower class is being bound by the joint misery of reduced corporate regulation, fewer government resources and poor educational systems with mass incarceration being used to control those who deviate from their role in the caste system.

Let's pretend for a second that Dr Watkins believes all that he does about "The Right-Wing Republican" and their intent on suppressing the poor based on their hatred and ideological inclinations.
How do we explain the motivations of the Chicago Housing Authority as they have proposed the very same policies of drug testing?

Chicago Housing Authority officials and public housing residents have been at odds for years over policies created under the Plan for Transformation. While the CHA maintains that stricter lease requirements -- like mandatory good neighbor classes and a one-strike eviction rule -- for those living in subsidized units is key to creating harmony in new mixed-income communities, residents see the policies as downright discriminatory. And the CHA's latest proposal -- the topic of discussion at a public hearing tonight -- has become yet another source of tension.
The agency is proposing to drug test all adult public housing residents and to eliminate the "innocent tenant defense" clause, which would allow CHA to evict residents when a relative or guest is arrested for using drugs or acting violently. Essentially, the latter would take away tenants' avenue to appeal such evictions. (Check out the amendments here.)

This is the par for the course for the "Embedded Confidence Men" that lurk within our racial consciousness nucleus.  Their main job is to act as "interpreters" - akin to the elder in the "tongues speaking church".  Upon hearing the ramblings of the emotional old lady that jumps up and spins on the floor on queue each week - right after the pastor's sermon and just before the alter call for new followers - she is heard speaking in words that are illegible to the commoners in the church.    Just on time the church elder with the thunderous voice stands up and perfectly translates the words that were transmitted from "God" through the vessel of the old woman who is now been cooled off by the nursing staff.   He, after all is giving "God's Message" to the church congregation.   I wonder if Dr Watkins is such an elder in his church home?

Dr Boyce Watkins (and Earl Ofari Hutchenson and Eugene Robinson and Jack White and Mary Curtis ) - all educated men (and women)  should not be mistaken as the "emotional woman" who is seen holl'in and spinning on the ground after the "spirit" hit her, sending her into convulsions.     They are too wise to play such a role.   They paid $9 to have their suits dry cleaned and pressed.   Their job is to make optimal use of the scene in which events that are greater than the "understanding" of the average member of the congregation by using it as an opportunity to pontificate the message that THEY want to project.

In doing so they are providing understanding of "God's Message"  to the congregation.  Their goal is to have the congregation to do "God's bidding".

Notice the CLEAN REPORTING of the "Chicago Now Muckrakers".  There is a conflict between the housing authority and the tenants.  Both have differing interests - custodial safety & high living standards versus "Social Justice RIGHTS" and the desire to avoid government sanctions.
