When Social Justice Is Confounded By The Will To Protect Favorable People In Power - Black Man Wrongly Accused & Arrested For Murder In Dekalb County Georgia

Man wrongly arrested for strip club shooting suing DeKalb County

It is reasonable to ignore the indications from "Progressive Political Preacher" Rev Al Sharpton on his intention to avoid criticizing Commander In Chief Obama because the negative impact on his reelection chances.  The Black community will just have to suffer in silence at the 16.1% Black unemployment rate is put into the forbearance box that "Hope" has constructed.

A far more frequent and pervasive case of protectionism happens at the local levels.   The pattern where our community responds differently to a violation of justice - based on the people in power and their favorability is well documented.

Joey Celestin and Bill Nichols are two people who serve as examples of such selective outrage.

For the record - I realize that police investigations must deal with an assortment of incomplete information and "hearsay" evidence.   They can only work with what they have and apply integrity in which the person is released if and when the story has too many holes in it.   The police often have a thankless job.

THIS STORY IS NOT ABOUT THE DEKALB POLICE DEPARTMENT THOUGH.

The backdrop of most stories about the false arrest of a Black man involves the question of the level of interest in the Police Chief / Sheriff or District Attorney associated with the case.

Last year despite the fact that 2 Black citizens died after an engagement that involved a taser wielding Dekalb County police man  - there were no protests seen in the county.

With such a high rate of inconsistency one can only conclude that the most prevailing force determining the presence of a protest is the need to send a message to an opposing force - NOT "justice" and the consistency that accompanies it.
