Bernice King Needs To "Speak Truth About The Power" Of The Three Problem Plagued Organizations That She Is Associated With

King Kid Report: Bernice King Confirms That She Is Departing Her Leadership Position At New Birth Missionary Baptist Church - Days After Bishop Eddie Long Settles His Sexual Harrassment Case

  • The King Center For Non-Violent Social Change - Lawsuit over royalties and licensing rights between the King Kids
  • The Southern Christian Leadership Conference - a "Progressive Social Justice Faction A" versus "Progressive Social Justice Faction B" fight for the leadership of the organization - that resulted in padlocks and a chain being used to barricade the opposing faction out of the headquaters building on the storied Auburn Avenue in Atlanta
  • New Birth Missionary Baptist Church - a sex scandal that rocked its founder and the church's foundations
Bernice King has held a leadership position in all three of these institutions that hold a powerful role in the Metro Atlanta area and the Black community specifically.

Each of these entities has had some serious troubles over the last 6 years.  Each of them needed to be settled by some measure of interaction with the court system.

I am not looking for a "Tell All" - "Mud Throwing" book penned by Ms King.    However, with my personal experience in dealing with the leadership/governing style of organizations that are lead by strong personalities - it believe that a document penned by Ms King in which she attempts to analyize how the governance of these "Civil Rights" and "Religious Enterprises" need to be reformed to make them more relevant as the Black community itself needs fundamental change in its own governance.

With all due respect - I don't believe that a person who has been modeled by these very forces that dominate these institutions - her last name opening up many doors for her - is going to be able to write the needed critical analysis of the machine that ultimately lifted her to power.

The Atlanta Chapter of the NAACP also recently went to court to defend the legality of its local elections (internal) for president and board members.   In my estimation all of this shows evidence of organizations with too much time on their hands, having lost sight of their critical mission.

More to the point - the knowledge that there exists no infrastructure WITHIN the Black community that is going to punish all of the operatives who misappropriate the power afforded to them via these insititutions that the Black community turns to as the pilliars of our upleft (putting aside the debate about their ultimate effectiveness for a second) - allows all of them to continue on with their antics.

With all of the consternation going on within these "Community Uplift Organications" - much of the forward motion that is lost to this frication in the fight for who will get the corner office with the window that is exposed to Dr King's Tomb - all that is an indictment against them can be washed away as the entire congregation of these "Civil Rights Pharisees" sign out in the same chorus that "RACISM" is the primary reason why the Black community doesn't appear to be able to keep up with others.

They all hold hands and hug each other per the unity of mission that this triggers.

WHO in the Black Press will write the book that Ms King will not likely write?
