A Schematic Of The Forces That Dominate The Black Community Congregational Consciousness

Yesterday as I was driving around performing my routine I was compelled to make note of the primary influencers of the Black Community Consciousness.   I had just left the place in Southwest Atlanta where I purchase my "Final Call" newspaper.   I am using this as a means of monitoring how the Nation Of Islam is dealing with the great betrayal of Obama as he is complicit in the bombing of Libya in Africa.  The content of the latest edition shows that while they will continue their domestic "racism chasing" exercise (see the column by "Brother Jesse" in which he looks past all of the murders WITHIN the Black community to find incidences of White racist assaults upon Black people and the Black President).

On my way back home as I was deciding if I should go to a restaurant to feed my kids that I had in tow or buy food to cook at home as I told them would be the case I listened to "Fight The Power Radio" (WAOK.com).    Yesterday was "Fight The Power's" birthday.  (Derrick Boazman is who I call "Fight The Power".)

His birthday show was symbolic of the "self-adulation" that takes place WITHIN the Black Community.   Though I (secretly) attended his "Let Us Make Man" forum at Fort Valley State University and give him and his crew credit for at least trying to make a positive impact within the Black community - the truth is that the 600 to 1000 people that did come to the forum is but a drop in the bucket with regards to the entire Black community in metro Atlanta.   With the calls that came in raining praise upon "Fight The Power" as the "speaker of truth to POWER" on behalf of the Black community - it was clear to me that he OWNED the disposition of the consciousness relationship between himself (his machine) and the entirety of the Black community.

If I dare to throw water on the flame as I mention the hundreds of thousands of Black people in the metro area and the proportionately small crowd which traveled to Fort Valley - I, a Black Conservative observer, critic and "performance consultant" would be called a "Hater".

There is a need for a bit of celebratory fare among these ranks.   The small gathering of loyal listeners for Fight The Power's birthday bash as he got off the air.  The "Father's Day" recognition ceremony by State Senator Roberta Abdul-Salaam of problem plagued Riverdale GA.  The inclusion of "Fight The Power's" mother (who I personally spoke to at Fort Valley because I knew who she was, congratulating her on her son's efforts).   All of this creates the sense of community that "Fight The Power" later uses to exercise the confidence of the community.

When I call into his show and DARE to suggest that the Black man who shot 27 times into the car holding a young Black family at the Texaco on MLK Jr Blvd was an EQUAL KILLER to the person who MAY HAVE lynched the Black man in Mississippi last year I am seen as a HATER.   The fact that the father was murdered, the pregnant Black woman was hit in the hip and a 6 year old Black child was shot in the foot is being raised as an INFERIOR ASSAULT as Rev Dr Crecey of the SCLC went cherry picking around the nation looking for a SUPERIOR assault upon Black people because a WHITE Tea Party Loyalist has committed the crime - I am seen as a fly in the ointment for DARING to believe that BLACK PEOPLE ARE EQUAL.

There is a certain heart beat to their antics.  (Wait a minute - let me tune into WAOK.com right now its 5pm)
The "Congregational Unity" that I frequently speak of is cemented in these relatively small forums.  The vast majority of Black Americans:

  • Do not listen to "Black Fight The Power" talk radio
  • Post or Read Black Political blogs
  • Attend any "Community Organizing" meetings
Most are living through life's struggle, trying to pay the bills, keep food on their table and making sure that their children are afforded the best possible life experience that they can manage as a parent.

The cliques seen by followers of (syndicated) radio hosts, blog sites or "community organizing" organizations are not representative of the average Black woman on the street.  Instead it is a consequence of branding and the relationship that has been built up over time and the ability of the "confidence man" to draw upon his connection.

While Tom Joyner and Michael Baisden have the following to get many bus loads of Black people down to a sleepy town in Louisiana to "Speak Truth To Power" against a District Attorney who used the magic voice control within an integrated school assembly to threaten Black students on the power of his pen that the White students didn't hear - the average Black American has many other concerns on her mind than to get on a bus and ride for 8 hours for the sake of unity and making a stand - passing many "unsolved Black on Black murder scenes" along the way.

What The Gatekeepers Are Loathed To Accept

Today - more than at any other time during our period in America as FREE PEOPLE - that which is labeled as RACISM is not an indicator of a physical assault upon a Black person - nor the prevailing THREAT to the Permanent Interests of a Black person in America.

More than ever the claim of RACISM is used for:
  1. Racial "Dignity" purposes - (THEY can't say that to us)
  2. Ideological Purposes - (The KKK Snowman in Idaho melted before any Black person got a chance to set his own eyes upon it - despite being newsworthy on many Black blogs)
  3. Political Purposes - The same "Black President" who was thought to be forced to "spread eagle" on the hood of a police car from the "Trump County" is also POWERFUL enough to command the full power of the US Military Force to various place around the world - prior to receiving Congressional approval

In summary - in their "Mission Accomplished" condition - the Guardians of Blackness have not managed how to transform the consciousness of our people to spend the balance of its POWER on taking advantage of building ORGANIC INFRASTRUCTURE in the clearing that we are now standing in rather than worrying that the jungle weeds of UNCHECKED RACIAL OPPRESSION that have just exited out of might return if we don't keep our eyes upon the "Tea Parties".

In as much as "UNITY" among Black people is their goal - they care little about the misappropriated BLACK POTENTIAL that they have at their feet.

Surely the Koreans, Chinese, Dominicans and Indians/Pakis in Philly that I just saw with my own eyes CAN SEE the potential in our community.

Unfortunately these entrenched forces operate with the IMPUNITY that "Congregational Complicity" affords them.

Until those same forces that can be heard on stage (at the "Root.com's Racism In The Age Of Obama" convention) making note of the need for CHANGE WITHIN our community - also are able to tell of the portion of change that is needed in their own methodologies and native assumptions - those who realize that Black people can be exploited for their votes when placed in a "racially defensive posture" will continue to have their way with our people.

At some point the Black community must say the words that many a young player hates hearing from his "friend with benefits":  "WE CAN'T KEEP DOING THIS ANY LONGER" as she realizes the greater vision of a relationship.
