Book of Exodus - Month of June 2

The continuation of bible reading from 'Sisterhood' for the month of June

Then the LORD said, "Put your hand inside your cloak." So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was leprous, like snow. Now put it back into your cloak," he said. So Moses put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his flesh. Exodus 4:6-7

It was restored”, this word restored drew my attention. This is who God is and what God can do.

Many times people blame God for the bad things that happen in their lives and try so hard to find out why. In their minds, they try to understand what happened or how and this only leads them to great frustration.

One thing I learned in one of my most difficult moments was never to question God, but to always know that with God there is a way out – there is a solution, the problem will come to an end.

The verse above also shows that it is He that allows. God can stop anything from happening but when He doesn't it's because He has allowed it to happen. This reminds me of Job who lost everything, God had allowed that to happen knowing that Job is faithful and will not turn his back on Him.

God allowed the hand of Moses to become leprous, because He wanted to show him that He alone is God and He can do great things. And when he placed his hand pack in the cloak He RESTORED it!

God can restore anything because He is God and what He allows to happen, He knows that He can restore the bad for His own glory and honour.

To restore means – to bring back into existence what no longer exists, to re-establish, to bring back to normal condition, bring back to a state of health, to reproduce, reproduce. God can restore anything even to be more than what it was before.

This is God – our Restorer
