The character of Paul is that of one chosen by God. He stood for the truth and spoke it openly without fear because he was living by faith and not just by the law. Many people observe the law, but they lack to live by faith - to live by what they believe to be the word of God. They think knowledge of the law will justify them but it is only through faith!
Without faith we cannot please God and we cannot conquer anything, not even salvation even though we may know the law. Let's live by faith and be justified by faith.
