Help Keep Ports Clean!

The Sierra Club reminds us that: "More than 87 million Americans live near ports or in coastal communities that have poor air quality. Much of this pollution comes from old, dirty tractor trailers that emit roughly ten to sixty times the diesel pollution of new trucks. The Port of Los Angeles has shown that by requiring new trucks ports can reduce emissions, create good jobs, and help business grow. "  They are asking us to "Help ensure that ports around the countries can implement clean truck programs -- ask your Representative to cosponsor the Clean Ports Act."

I sent a personalized version of their letter to my representatives.  If you would like to tell your representatives that you want them to help create green jobs and stop pollution by co-sponsoring The Clean Ports Act (HR 5967), introduced by Representative Nadle, Click Here!
