Ms. Solis is our current U. S. Secretary of Labor. Known as a champion of labor issues and the environment, she was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives five times. She is a California native, born of immigrant parents from Mexico and Nicaragua. Solis is the first Latina to serve in the U. S. Cabinet.
