"......True To Our Native Land." Report - Second 100+ Casualty Accident In West Africa In A Few Short Days - Kenya Fuel Fire Burns Village

All Africa - Fuel Fire In Kenya Burns Village, Kills Over 100

Over one hundred people have been confirmed dead in a slum fire in Nairobi. More bodies are scattered all over the sprawling slum estate that are yet to be removed. The fire was caused by an oil spill from the Kenya Pipeline Corporation pipes than runs through the Industrial Area. The pipeline is said to have caused several explosions, which gutted homes and killed unsuspecting residents. The bodies include those of children, women and men who were either preparing to go to work or had returned home from night

  2. A Broken Fuel Pipeline Leaks Its Contents Into The Sewers.  A Lit Cigarette Tossed Into The Sewer Inadvertently Sets Off A Massive Blaze
In America after several centuries of such mass tragedies that had lead to stronger safety standards - we are allowed to debate the balance between regulation and commerce - without fear of the carnage that has recently been seen in East Africa. The two questions that these incidents bring forth are:

  1. What is necessary for these Developing Nations to bring their specs up to a level that makes these tragedies less likely?
  2. Does this need indicate an unaddressed (and unrecognized) opportunity for Black Americans to provide a bridge and a future ALTERNATIVE - an option that some say we don't have here in America per our chosen course of action.  (The American Political Domain)
