TROY DAVIS DENIED CLEMENCY -- THERE'S STILL HOPE!

WE ARE ALL TROY DAVIS!  And no matter what specious arguments some may put forward, this is cold-blooded murder, nothing less.

Georgia is going to murder Troy Davis.

The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles -- virtually Troy's last chance ahead of his scheduled execution tomorrow evening -- denied him clemency this morning.

At the top right of that page you'll find CEDP's "5 Reasons to Oppose the Death Penalty." I would add one that I believe is crucial: The death penalty (which, quite simply, is state-sanctioned murder) demeans the humanity of us all. To carry out executions is to mimic the very crimes we say we abhor.

And remember: The case against Troy Davis has completely fallen apart. It is only the mechanisms of our "justice" system that disqualify all the facts now available to save Troy. Millions around the world are calling for clemency.
