Black Progressive Political Discourse - Living Vicariously Through Obama And The "Racism" That He Suffers

Today I listened to no less than 4 hours of "Fight The Power" Black-Wing Talk Radio on Atlanta's WAOK AM.  You too can listen to the same audio stream on the Internet via "www.waok.com".

Today (Saturday) was a "Best Of" replay schedule for all of the popular talking heads on WAOK:

• Bev Smith
• Warren Ballentine
• (guest host) Dr Ron Daniels
• other guest hosts who's names I don't recall

Regardless of who was at the microphone or who was calling in..................the same ideological perspective was heard along with the debate tactics that I have modeled for the Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chaser.

They start off with an "Obama-centric" approach in their debates.  Obama is the best hope for PROGRESSIVISM to make gains in the political space.   Thus the Tea Party - the biggest threat to Progressivism - is also the biggest threat to "The Black (Progressive) Agenda".

I liked what Bev Smith called the Tea Party - "Anti-Woman, Anti-Immigrant, Racist, Homophobic".   

In the spirit of "Keep Your Enemy On Trial So You Don't Have To Come To Grips With Your Own Demons" - what I heard today should be recorded for analysis by graduate students and cultural anthropologists. 

"Obama Is Under RACIAL Attack And This Is No Time For Black People To Splinter By Demanding Results From Him.  He Will Have More Freedom To Work For Black People In His Second Term"

Sam Fullwood II,  guest on "The Bev Smith Show" agreed with Ms Smith that "The Tea Party are LIARS".........."they ran on an agenda that was not possible to achieve and fooled the people who voted for them".    (Earlier in the same conversation he said:) "Obama ran on a general 'Yes We Can' message by which he tried to unite all Americans together under one cause".

In their mindset they cannot bring themselves to see that "Hope and Change" was a message that was merely a mirror image to whatever the Tea Party used to "trick" their voters.

The "Black Agenda" - as voiced across the 4 radio shows that I listened to is centrally focused upon a fight against Republicans and Right-Wing forces that threaten the Black community's access to "redistributive social justice" at the federal government.

When I make the case that "Progressivism Is Inorganic" the evidence was abundance in what I heard today.  When it comes to the austerity cuts that America is due for (cuts in Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid) the voices on the radio were more focused upon how poor Blacks would be made to suffer in the future while not one word was mentioned about the suite of promises that were made to Black people regarding how our electoral investments would lead to our (organic) prosperity - as "favorable people" were given control over the institutions that preside over our community.

It is clear that this was all a grand scheme to make a run at the national government.  The local institutions that Bayard Ruskin mentioned were just stepping stones.   Even though the majority of the hosts on the radio today were around when Ruskin voiced the plan  - none of them expressed any notion of being short-changed by this grand scheme that did not produce the promised results locally.

The enemy of Black people appear to be those who threaten to make government spending cuts that threaten Black people in the immediate future - not those who received our investments in the past and yet failed to come through with their promises.


For me - the biggest enemy of Black people are those who have access to the actuarial charts of these same programs for the future - and yet they have our people contented with the belief that a successful defense of any cuts by the popular enemy represents a victory for the long term interests of the Black community.   It seems clear that they plan to get over on us in the next interval - just as they did in the last one.

The Power Of Racial Defensiveness Against "Racist Slights"

This man is spot on regarding the phenomenon of the left by which they place their core values that might have been violated by the Obama Administration on forbearance as they circle the wagons against a "right-wing" threat.

To the Progressive-Fundamentalist - such a choice is rational.
In my analysis - this is the key escape hatch that they use to avoid the necessary introspection of their ideology.  Especially when it is fused to become "The Black Agenda".

As such they understand that any WHITE MAN who offends Obama (or any other Progressive Black elected official) is superior enough to cause Black people to remain silent about:

• Failing schools in the Black community
• Intramural Civil Rights violations within the Black community
• Economic Development Plans in the Black community that fall far short of the plan

In truth we are not only dealing with "White Supremacy" (at the hands of White Conservatives).  This is also "Non-White White Supremacy" at the hands of the Black Progressives.   All of this is done as they attempt to promote their ideological agenda above any intentions of retaining the integrity of Black community institutions. 

The Cathartic Phrase "President Obama Did Not Create This Economic Mess - Reagan And Bush Did!!!"

So said Dr Ron Daniels.

You all do realize that "Reagan doubled the national debt", that "George W Bush increased the national debt by $5 trillion" right?

Bush took a budget surplus and squandered it with:

• 2 Unfunded Wars
• Expanded Medicaid Part D
• Created Tax Cuts For The rich

"Now they are trying to place this on a Black man trying to make him out to be a failure".

As you listen to them you begin to understand that they have no intention of making the very same indictments against the "local favorable people" (in Detroit, Chicago, Philly or Dekalb County GA) who have also left a financial mess in the wake of their terms.   "Failure" is a punishable offense only if you are a non-progressive.  When a progressive fails they see their job as finding a Republican who has also failed or to point out how the conservative enemy has caused the progressive to fail.  This being through direct sabotage or via "corporate abandonment" where the progressive was left all alone to fend for himself.

Not one word was mentioned about the War in Libya - initiated on Obama's watch.

Even though a few people mentioned how "White folks don't want to see a Black man successful" which started from slavery and colonialism  - not a soul mentioned how the present Commander In Chief is continuing America's imperialist romp through Africa and the Middle East.


They Are Not Going To Change

What I heard today is quite refreshing to me.  It reminds me who I am dealing with.

Despite the frequent claims that "the Black community needs to REACH BACK INSIDE OUR COMMUNITY and seek to accomplish more locally"........it is clear that they are not talking about the same thing that I am talking about when I mention the same.   With them - American Politics and the "RACISM" that they detect within - is always going to derail any such a drive toward more organic ends.

The final show had a guest host (I don't recall his name).  He asked "What Is Wrong With The Black Community?"

Despite caller after caller making the case in political terms few could see that their fusion between our community and the 'American Political Domain' IS the problem.  Those who seek their confidence merely disrupt such thoughts by dangling "The Tea Party" in front of Black people.

In my estimation "The Problem With The Black Community" is -------  the lack of integrity of our INSTITUTIONS.   There is no system that protects the "Community Consciousness Core" from usurpation.
