Football Player Ray Lewis - If The NFL Is Taken Away - Crime Will Increase (He Ought To Know)

LewisDo this research if we don't have a season -- watch how much evil, which we call crime, watch how much crime picks up, if you take away our game.
-- Ray Lewis
These intemperate comments by football player Ray Lewis afford me the opportunity to express my sentiments of him that were formed after that fateful night on the streets of Atlanta - when two Black males where left dead in the gutter - having ran into the two killer Street Pirates that accompanied Ray Lewis at a Super Bowl party that evening in the Buckhead section (party district) of Atlanta.I never thought that Ray Lewis stabbed those two men.  I do believe that his buddies who he drove away with did it.   They discarded blood soaked garments and returned to their hotel where they got their stories straight. For me - though I give Lewis credit as a strong football player and a team leader for his squad - his choice to play the "Stop Snitching" role - when two young Black males lay in the gutter - having bleed out - trumped all other character points that he could offer to me.
These same streets of Buckhead would later generate charges of RACISM in how Black patrons were treated in this formerly exclusively White party district.   It was THIS beacon that triggered the local NAACP to send monitors to be posted on each major corner - passing out fliers instructing the Black patrons to report any incidents of RACISM that they experienced in the status of "Partying While Black".Though we have the "Injustice Files" on A&E - desperately seeking out racist Whites who have murdered Black people some 50 or 60 years ago - few people - the NAACP included appear to be as concerned about finding who actually STABBED THE TWO BLACK MALES LEFT FOR DEAD on the streets of Buckhead - at the height of Ray Lewis' career.Mr Lewis would be PROUDLY welcomed as a featured guest to any NAACP, SCLC, King Center or "The Poor People's Campaign" rally.  In fact anyone who dared ask him a question about what happened that fateful night would be escorted out of the building by security.  The cost of "disturbing" the guest of honor.I as an individual can't do anything to force Mr Lewis to come clean about the clear co-conspiracy that he participated in which lead to the "not guilty" verdict over the two killings on the streets.  Yes I can express a slight bit of happiness that the more aggressive Street Pirate of the two who purchased knives just days before the double murder had himself died after a high speed chase years later involving the Atlanta Police.  Still I am free to choose my sentiments about Ray Lewis.  I am quite sure that - minus that fateful evening - I would have a positive view of him.  With that evening in mind - I am unable to apply my respect to him.  I also choose to look around at the various Black organizations that demanded that we respect the findings of the court that he and the two accomplices who actually did the murder were NOT GUILTY.   THIS TIME they ask that we respect the finding, which causes me to be suspicious.
